Help Us Send Under-Served Students to SLAM Summer Academy
Our programs address critical needs of our youth and put them on the road to success!
SLAM Summer Academy is a three-week, full-day (8:00 am - 5:00 pm each weekday) program for first through ninth graders held in June and July at several locations in Shelby County. Our participants enjoyed positive social interactions with their peers and adults while taking advantage of great instruction from licensed teachers in math, language arts, reading, writing, STEM, public speaking, and financial literacy. Also, they were mentored each day by high-achieving college students who served as counselors in our programs. Students enjoyed nutritious lunches and snacks before participating in an active afternoon of sports and games. With your help we provide scholarships and financial assistance so that all students may participate in our programs.
